I worked many years in the NHS as a Registered Nurse and
a Senior Ward Sister in a very busy surgical ward with acutely chronically
ill people. I gained a range of skills necessary for effective psychological
support and intervention. My
passion for helping people achieve their potential, despite physical,
emotional or social limitations. This has led me to the process of self
development and training in counselling and psychotherapy. I am committed
to maintaining my own personal and professional development and continue
to expand my clinical skills through regular supervision (as required
by BACP) and ongoing training.
Personal Approach
I am an integrative therapist and draw from Person-Centred, Existential,
Gestalt, CBT, Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis. These
approaches allow me to offer the type of therapy, or combination of therapies,
that is most appropriate for the individual needs of the client.
